This is why Mexico is one of my favorite destinations to go and chill for a few days. This place offers something for everyone, from adventure to culturally rich heritage, from sunny beaches to mountains, from music festivals to traditional ones! There’s a lot to see and soak in.

Well, don’t worry I have got your back with this article covering the most popular places to visit in Mexico. Go ahead and check these out to plan your perfect schedule for Mexico vacation.

1. Mexico City

Mexico City would probably be the first place that you are going to visit. There is no shortage of tourist attractions here and you are going to love them all. It’s one of the most vibrant cities that I have been to and it remains one of my most favorite cities. You will find great buildings, world class restaurants, museums, and a lot more.

If you are an architectural nerd then you are going to love the UNESCO heritage sites with amazing conical buildings from the 16th to 19th century. Try to watch a show in 160 off theaters of the city, you are going to love the vibe of them. This is a perfect destination for those who love to explore art and culture of a foreign land.

2. Chichén Itzá: The Mayan Metropolis

This is one of the most visited archeological sites thanks to its great preservation efforts by the government. This has been declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO. You will learn about the Mayan dynasty and how advanced they were. This place will offer a great tour which will educate you about the country’s rich heritage and history. Here, the El Castillo is one of the most popular visited pyramids that is 30 meter high (one of the tallest structures here).

3. Cancún and the Mayan Riviera

To get a relaxed and fun gateway, you would need to see Cancún and the Mayan Riviera. It features a white powdery sand beach and is surrounded by cute little towns that are too pretty to miss out on. The place is also known as Mexican Caribbean and for all the right reasons.

You will find some luxurious resorts filled with relaxing amenities that will make your holiday perfect. If you need a break from all the beach fun then feel free to take a break and go on long walks in the small towns. There are many fun activities to take part in, such as snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, scuba diving to see the aquatic diversity, and seeing the beautiful reefs.

4. Puerto Vallarta

We talking about Mexico, there won’t be a shortage of amazing beaches which is why Puerto Vallarta is my next favorite destination to visit.

It’s a nice little fishing village that is growing to become one of the touristic attractions of Mexico. Here, you will find the perfect blend of beaches and jungle covered mountains. Since it’s still an underrated destination, you will find an authentic vibe of a small town with the comfort of a modern big city. The beaches are vast and cater to every need of the tourists. The cobblestone and historic homes contribute to its evergreen beauty. You will just love it here if you want a place to relax without the loudness of a big tourist attraction.

5. Tulum

And we are back to the historic places of the country with Tulum which is a cultural significance to the county and its native population. Here, you will find the ancient fortress of Tulum which is massive yet beautiful in every sense. The fortress stands tall on a cliff looking at the massive Caribbean sea, it’s a sight that you will never forget.

6. Guanajuato

Guanajuato is kinda like a small town with a rich heritage, narrow alleys, and beautiful streets. This city would make you reach your daily 10k steps sooner than you would expect. It’s a slow paced city with some of the most beautiful architectural and colonial buildings. You can see plazas, cafes, theaters, fountains, flower beds, and many more in this city. Make sure you have enough storage on your phone because you are gonna wanna take hundreds of pictures here.

7. Cozumel: Island Life

If you want to explore aquatic life then Cozumel should be a must visit place on your tour. This island is allegedly first inhabited by the Mayan pilgrim which gives it a cultural significance. There are many amazing beaches that you can explore along with the marine life. There are plenty of underwater activities that you can participate in. If you love water, marine life, beaches, and some historic significance then this should be a perfect place to visit in Mexico!

Before we say goodbye..
